Introduction to
Our Services
Mmere Dane Counseling provides a comprehensive suite of mental health services designed to meet a wide spectrum of needs for individuals, teens (14+), couples, families, and professionals. Rooted in evidence-based practice, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care, our services address emotional, relational, and behavioral health concerns like anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, identity-related stress, and life transitions. This Services Overview summarizes our main areas of practice and points you to specialized service pages for detailed descriptions.
Why Structured Mental Health Services Matter
Structured and professional mental health services help individuals and families not only survive but thrive. Addressing mental health concerns with clinical care reduces acute symptoms, prevents relapse, and improves daily functioning—work performance, school success, parenting, and relationships. Comprehensive services that include individual therapy, teen counseling, family and couples therapy, culturally specific support, and professional supervision create a continuum of care to meet clients where they are.
Core Service Areas

1. Individual Mental Health Counseling
We provide individualized therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, personality-related challenges, and suicide prevention. Techniques include CBT, trauma-informed care, and integrative approaches tailored to your needs.

2. Teen / Youth Counseling
Our adolescent services begin at age 14 and focus on developmental concerns, school and career planning, peer and family relationships, mood regulation, and identity development. We coordinate with families and schools when appropriate.

3. Relationship & Family Counseling
Couples, marriage, and family therapy address communication breakdowns, intimacy issues, infidelity, separation concerns, co-parenting, and blended family dynamics. We use structured models to build repair processes and stronger relational skills.

4. Identity, Culture & Community Support
Affirmative therapy for LGBTQ+ clients, culturally responsive care for Black and Hispanic clients, and specialized support for multicultural and social justice concerns. Our clinicians incorporate systemic awareness into therapeutic practice.

5. Professional & Specialty Services
Clinical supervision, internships, court-mandated therapy, veteran/TRICARE support, insurance navigation, and specialized workshops for professionals. We provide structured supervision and competency-building opportunities.
Why Our Approach
Matters
Trauma & PTSD
Trauma-informed assessments, prolonged exposure, EMDR when indicated, and stabilization-focused work for high-risk or complex trauma histories.
Addiction & Substance Use
Motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, harm-reduction strategies, and referrals to intensive programs when clinically indicated.
Suicide Prevention
Thorough risk assessment, safety planning, and coordination with emergency services and crisis resources.
Road Rage & Anger Management
Behavior-focused interventions to reduce impulsive driving behaviors and support safer decision-making.
ENM & Nontraditional Relationships
We provide nonjudgmental support for ethical non-monogamy and polyamory, helping partners navigate boundaries, consent, and communication.
Career & Life Planning
Counseling that supports vocational decision-making, educational planning, and life transitions.
How We
Structure Care
Intake & Assessment
Every new client begins with a comprehensive intake that identifies presenting concerns, medical and psychiatric history, psychosocial factors, and initial safety screening. This assessment informs a treatment plan and recommendations for session frequency and modality (telehealth vs. in-person).
Treatment Planning & Goals
Therapy is goal-oriented and evidence-based. Treatment goals are mutually agreed upon and measurable. We recommend formal progress checks and outcome tracking to ensure therapeutic effectiveness.
Session Modalities
- Individual therapy (in-person or telehealth)
- Couples therapy (in-person / telehealth)
- Family sessions (in-person)
- Group therapy (scheduled periodically for specific focus areas)
- Supervision and training sessions for clinicians-in-training
Benefits of Our
Integrated Services
- Continuity of Care: We offer a spectrum of services so clients do not have to navigate multiple agencies for different needs.
- Personalized Approach: We match therapy modalities and clinicians to the unique needs of each individual, family, or couple.
- Cultural Competence: Services are delivered with sensitivity to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and cultural values.
- Coordination with Other Providers: We communicate with primary care physicians, psychiatrists, schools, or courts as needed and with client consent.

Safety & Crisis Response

Access, Insurance, and Payment Options
We accept self-pay and participate with many insurers. Our administrative team will assist in verifying insurance benefits, explaining copays, and helping with out-of-network reimbursement as appropriate. We also support clients navigating Medicare and Medicaid where applicable.
Client Rights and Confidentiality
All clients have a right to privacy and confidentiality as required by law and ethics. Exceptions to confidentiality are explained during intake and include situations of imminent risk, child or elder abuse, or court-ordered disclosures.
